What does that mean?
This law requires all online retailers to take responsibility for the entire life cycle of their packaging. Every parcel, every product box and every piece of packing material must be strictly monitored, registered with the authorities and financed through high recycling charges to ensure its subsequent recycling.

Why does this also affect prices?
Implementing these strict EU requirements involves a considerable amount of red tape and a sharp rise in licensing and recycling costs. As an independent online shop, we are unfortunately unable to bear these new, government-imposed additional costs entirely on our own.

Cross-border shipping presents a particular challenge for us: the PPWR stipulates that, in almost every EU country to which we deliver but where we do not have our own branch, we must appoint a local Authorised representative. This party is legally liable for us locally. In addition, there is a strict obligation to register with the relevant national authorities and environmental registers in each country. As each country imposes its own fees, contracts and reporting systems, this results in separate fixed costs and a huge administrative burden for each country of delivery.
